January is National Mentoring Month National Mentoring Month is the time each year when our nation officially shines a spotlight on the importance of mentors and the need for every child to have a caring adult in their life. Together, the Harvard School of Public Health, MENTOR, and the Corporation for National and Community Service are working to focus national attention on the need for mentors. If we - individuals, businesses, government agencies, schools, faith communities and nonprofits - can work together to increase the number of mentors, we assure brighter futures for our young people. The Mentoring Collaborative of Montgomery County is excited to announce our Keynote Speaker for the 2010 National Mentoring events, Rev. Dr. W. Wilson, Goode, Sr. Rev. Dr. Goode is the director and organizer of the nationally acclaimed Amachi Program, a national faith-based mentoring model for children of incarcerated parents.
